The Protectorate is a police force tasked with overseeing Humanity's interests in the Orion Systems. While not as advanced as other alien species, humanity's best, battle-tested technology is usually standard issue for the Protectorate.

The Grell are active in all the planets that host Koru plant life. It is thought that the interstellar Koru plant species bring the Grell along with them as they colonize the stars.

Ryn Enterprises has taken part in all of Humanity's expansion phases. Ryn-Orion coordinates most of Orion System's human mining and agriculture operations. Recent research has shown that Koru plant matter can be converted into a rich energy source for space travel. New methods of cultivating Koru plant life are being devised.

Units are designed to have unique modes of attack and powers to help differentiate each faction's playstyle.

One of the largest walkers that the Protectorate employs, Striders are used for cargo transportation across uneven ground, troop transport and as a mobile repair facility.
